WEEKEND TRIO: After a rare weekend off, the World of Outlaws are scheduled for a trio of races in the Midwest. The Kyle Larson Racing team is set to kick off the weekend at Lake Ozark (Mo.) Speedway on Friday, followed up by Federated Auto Parts Speedway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., and will wrap up the weekend at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway on Sunday.
MACEDO’S MIDWEST HISTORY:Friday’s Battle at the Lake at Lake Ozark Speedway will be Carson Macedo’s first visit to the 1/3-mile circuit. He has made one start at Federated Auto Parts Speedway at I-55 with the World of Outlaws in the 2017 Ironman 55. Macedo was running inside the top 10 before suffering mechanical issues resulting in a 22nd-place finish. In 2016, Macedo competed at Jacksonville Speedway with the POWRi Midgets, where he scored a top-five run.
DEVIL’S BOWL RECAP: Before Easter break, Macedo and the KLR team competed at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas for the Texas Outlaw Nationals. Macedo qualified sixth and won his heat race on Friday, April 12. He went on to finish fifth in the DIRTVision Fast Pass dash and seventh in the feature. Saturday’s finale was canceled due to rain.
MACEDO ON THE MIDWEST: “It’s nice to have a three-day race weekend at three really good tracks,” said Macedo. “I’ve never been to Lake Ozark Speedway, but from what I have seen on film, it looks like a really racy little place. I’m looking forward to getting to the Midwest and hopefully we will put together some good runs with the KLR guys.”
