MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 1, 2018) – The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series wrapped up a weekend at the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Penn., this past Saturday night. Shane Stewart and his Kyle Larson Racing team kicked off the weekend with a solid top-five finish and followed it up with a top-10 score and earned the KSE Hard Charger award for the night on Saturday.

Friday night, Stewart qualified sixth in Flight B of time trials. He went on to finish second in the sixth and final heat race, transferring him into the Sears Craftsman Dash. Nixon, Stewart’s daughter, drew the six wrench for her dad and he finished sixth in the second dash, lining him up to start 12th for the 27-lap feature event. The Bixby, Okla., native was into the top 10 by lap six and slowly kept picking off positions. On the final lap of the race, Stewart was running in the sixth position when two cars in front of him made contact, allowing him to take advantage and earn a fifth-place finish.

The following night, Stewart qualified eighth in Flight A and finished sixth in his heat race. After starting third in the Last Chance Showdown, he finished fourth, transferring him into the 40-lap feature event. The pilot of the Chevrolet Accessories No. 2 started 22nd and started to work his way through the field. By the halfway mark of the race, Stewart was up to 13th and in the closing laps was able to gain four more positions to earn a ninth-place finish and the KSE Hard Charger Award for the night.

“It was a good weekend for us and at a track that hasn’t always been my best,” said Stewart. “Despite being in the B-Main, we were back to running how we should be and getting good results. It felt good to be competitive and pass cars and I can’t thank Heath [Moyle] and Jakob [Weaver] enough for all of their hard work.”

The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action next Saturday night at Fulton (N.Y.) Speedway.
