SPRINT CAR CAPITAL OF THE WORLD: Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson heads to the Hawkeye State for the biggest week in 410 Sprint Car Racing. Larson will be sporting some new colors as McDonald’s will be the primary sponsor of the Silva Motorsports No. 57. The Elk Grove, Calif., native will kick off the week looking to defend his title at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa on Monday for the Front Row Challenge.  After a day off Larson will compete in Wednesday night’s BRANDT Qualifying Night at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway before heading to Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich., and returning to Knoxville on Saturday for the 59th Annual Knoxville Nationals.

OSKY CHALLENGES: Larson is no stranger to victory lane at Southern Iowa Speedway. In his first visit to the half-mile circuit in 2011, he picked up the USAC National Sprint Car Ultimate Challenge title. The following year, Larson won the non-wing sprint car event during the Front Row Challenge and picked up back-to-back wins in the Ultimate Challenge the next night, making him the only driver to win the event twice. Last year, he picked up his first Front Row Challenge title and became the first driver to win both the Ultimate Challenge and the Front Row Challenge.

NATIONALS HISTORY: Over the years, Larson has tallied two qualifying night victories and a preliminary night victory, locking him in to Saturday’s finale. In five Knoxville Nationals starts, he has locked himself into every feature event and in the past three years, he’s finished inside the top-five.

AROUND TOWN: Away from the race track, Larson will be participating in a couple events around Knoxville. He will be competing in the Tony Stewart Foundation Sage Fruit Go-Kart Spectacular at Slideways at 10am on Wednesday, August 7. The following day, he will be at the local McDonald’s for a meet and greet located at 1406 S. Lincoln Street in Knoxville at noon and an autograph session at the Sprint Car Hall of Fame from 3-4pm.
