MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 7, 2019) – The Kyle Larson Racing team wrapped up a big weekend against the PA Posse this past Saturday night. In his final doubleheader of the 2019 season at the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Penn., Carson Macedo scored 19th and 13th place finishes respectively with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
Friday night, Macedo qualified 17th in the second Flight of time trials at Williams Grove Speedway. After starting sixth in his heat race, the pilot of the Chevrolet Accessories/ Tarlton and Son, Inc./ Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions No. 2 climbed to a third-place finish, advancing him into the 25-lap feature event. Macedo started Friday night’s finale from 16th and finished in 19th-place.
The following night, the Lemoore, Calif., native qualified 11th in Flight 2 of qualifying and finished sixth in his heat race. He started sixth in the Last Chance Showdown and quickly moved into the fourth running position. In the closing circuits of the 12-lap race, Macedo gained another two positions to finish second and transfer into the 40-lap National Open finale, where he started 20th and finished 13th.
“Williams Grove has been one of the toughest, most frustrating places for me as a driver,” said Macedo. “I feel like I still have a lot to learn to be better there. I made mistakes throughout the night that really cost our team. Although it’s a struggle, I do feel like we are making progress and getting better. To be able to make the show both nights, run all the laps and get better is an accomplishment in itself. I appreciate my guys for not giving up on me. Joe and Trey work really hard and they deserve better results.”
The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action this Saturday night for the Wabash Clash at Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track followed up by Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., on Sunday.
