MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 1, 2019) – The Kyle Larson Racing team wrapped up a month-long stint in the Golden State this past weekend. Carson Macedo competed with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, Calif., on Friday followed up by Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway on Saturday.

Friday night, Macedo competed at Keller Auto Speedway, a circuit located 15 minutes away from his hometown of Lemoore, Calif. He qualified ninth and advanced from third to win the opening heat race and transfer into the DIRTVision Fast Pass Dash. Macedo gained two positions in the dash to earn the sixth starting spot for the 35-lap feature event where he finished eighth.

The following night, the KLR team made the trip to Perris Auto Speedway for the lone stop on the World of Outlaws tour in Southern California. The 22-year-old qualified sixth and started on the outside of the front row of his heat race where he finished second. After starting last in the DIRTVision Fast Pass Dash, he gained three positions to finish third. Macedo started the 30-lap feature event from the inside of the second row and finished in the runner-up spot.

“All in all, I feel like we put together a pretty solid weekend,” said Macedo. “I would have liked to have been a little better in the feature at Hanford, but we were able to put ourselves in the dash both nights, which is so important. I wish we could have contented for the win at Perris, but I was glad we were able to have a strong run and end up on the podium. We all have Heath in our thoughts and prayers right now and are looking forward to having him back to 100% as soon as possible.”

Macedo currently sits fourth in the World of Outlaws championship point standings, 48 markers out of the lead. The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action next weekend at USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday, followed up by Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek on Saturday.
