MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 1, 2019) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series beat the weather for a weekend full of competition. Carson Macedo and his Kyle Larson Racing team earned a top-five finish in the BeFour the Crowns Showdown at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio Friday night, followed up by a 15th-place finish in Saturday’s Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Penn.

Fresh off his fourth win of the World of Outlaws’ season and a two-and-a-half-hour rain delay, Macedo was the second quickest qualifier in the second flight of time trials at The Big E Friday night. After winning his heat race to advance into the DIRTVision Fast Pass Dash, Macedo scored a runner-up finish to earn a spot on the front row for the 30-lap BeFour the Crowns Showdown feature event, where he eventually finished fifth.

The following night, the Lemoore, Calif., native qualified 20th and advanced one spot in the fourth and final heat race to finish fourth and transfer into the 35-lap feature event. After starting 16th in the Commonwealth Clash, Macedo tallied a 15th-place score.

“Eldora is one of my favorite places to race,” said Macedo. “I was happy to have so much speed all night and finish up with a top-5. Although it’s not the finish we were hoping for after a front row starting position, I think our team still did a really great job. Saturday at Lernerville we felt like we were a little off all night, we tried some stuff in the feature and really struggled. That’s part of racing, we will live, learn and try again at the grove this weekend.”

The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action this Friday and Saturday night at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Penn., for the National Open.
