MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 8, 2019) – The Kyle Larson Racing team wrapped up two events in the desert this past weekend with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. Carson Macedo finished 14th at USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday and followed that up with a top 10 finish at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek on Saturday.

Macedo returned to USA Raceway for the first time since 2013 on Friday. He started off the night by qualifying 16th and advancing one spot in the opening heat race to finish fifth. He started 13th in the 30-lap main event and raced as high as 11th before finishing 14th.

The following night, the Lemoore, Calif., native made his career-first World of Outlaws start at Arizona Speedway. He qualified fourth, lining him up to start on the outside of the front row in the opening heat race. Unfortunately, Macedo got called for a jump start and was penalized two positions to restart the race from fourth, where he ultimately finished. He started the 30-lap feature event from 10th and gained a spot to finish ninth.

“This past weekend we had our struggles,” said Macedo. “When competing with the World of Outlaws, it’s extremely important to qualify well to put yourself in a good position the rest of the night. Unfortunately, we were unable to do that on Friday and it really put us behind the eight ball. We had a great start to the night on Saturday. We timed in well, but I cost myself in the heat race by jumping the start and getting penalized. That definitely made our night a little tougher. I just have to keep working hard to minimize mistakes. Joe [Gaerte], Heath [Moyle], and Trey [Bowman] have been doing a great job. They work really hard, so I really want to be better each night to give them good runs in return for their efforts.”

The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas for the Texas Outlaw Nationals with the World of Outlaws.
