MOORESVILLE, N.C. (OCTOBER 14, 2019) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series concluded a weekend in the Hoosier state last night. Unfortunately, Saturday’s Wabash Clash was canceled as a result of too much rain saturating the ground, but Carson Macedo and his Kyle Larson Racing team scored a top-10 finish at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., on Sunday.
Macedo qualified 21st out of 28 competitors to start the night, but advanced from seventh to finish fifth and transfer into the night’s main event. The pilot of the Chevrolet Accessories/ Tarlton and Son, Inc./ Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions No. 2 started the 40-lap feature event from 15th. The early portion of the race was plagued with cautions that Macedo was able to avoid, allowing him to quickly make his way inside the top-10. He raced as high as seventh before finishing in 10th-place.
“Last night was a bit of a bummer for me,” said Macedo. “Haubstadt is a place that I thought we would really excel at. We were just a bit off all night, but I feel like we learned a lot that will make us better in the future. That’s the special thing about the Outlaw tour is that every night and every track is different so it’s important to learn as much as you can the first time so that you are one step ahead next time.”
The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action this Friday at Lakeside Speedway for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown, followed up by the Jason Johnson Classic presented by FK Rod Ends at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on Saturday.
