#FLINFEB: After two months of competition across Australia, Carson Macedo is back in the states and ready to kick off his sophomore World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season with Kyle Larson Racing. Macedo and the KLR team will practice at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., on Tuesday, followed by two nights of racing with the All Star Circuit of Champions and three more rounds of World of Outlaws action.
DIRTCAR NATIONALS: In his first season with Kyle Larson Racing, Macedo earned eighth and 15th-places finishes with the All Stars at Volusia Speedway Park during the DIRTcar Nationals. He then kicked off his rookie World of Outlaws season with back-to-back top-10 scores.
AUSTRALIA RECAP: The Lemoore, Calif., native spent most of December and January competing at several tracks across Australia while driving a Sprint Car and Midget for Dyson Motorsports. In four Midget starts at Valvoline Raceway in Granville, New South Wales, Macedo was victorious in the first three, before opting to start from the rear of the field to go after a bonus in the fourth feature event. After winning the heat and pole shuffle, he started from last and charged forward to earn a runner-up finish. In seven starts at Valvoline Raceway in the Sprint Car, Macedo had six top-five finishes, four podium scores and won two feature events. The feature events at Avalon Raceway in Lara, Victoria and Borderline Speedway in Mount Gambier, South Australia were canceled due to rain. Macedo was seventh in overall points of Night Two of competition during the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Premier Speedway in Warrnambool, Victoria but got caught up in an accident on the opening lap of Sunday’s finale, ending his night.
