MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 29, 2019) – The Kyle Larson Racing team wrapped up what was supposed to be a triple-header weekend in the Midwest last night. Friday night, the World of Outlaws competed at Lake Ozark Speedway in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., where Carson Macedo advanced 12 positions to score a top-10 finish and the KSE Hard Charger award for the night. Saturday’s Spring Classic at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., was canceled due to rain and Sunday’s race at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway was completed through the dash but the remainder of the program fell victim to Mother Nature.

Macedo was the last driver to make his qualifying laps and timed in 22nd at Lake Ozark Speedway Friday night. He was able to grab the final transfer spot in his heat race to advance into the 40-lap Battle at the Lake feature. The pilot of the Chevrolet Accessories, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Complete Parts and Equipment Solutions No. 2 started from the 18th spot and quickly advanced towards the front. Just after the halfway mark of the race, he was inside the top 10 and in the closing laps, he was able to gain three more spots to earn a sixth-place finish and the KSE Hard Charger award.

After Saturday’s Spring Classic at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 was canceled due to rain, the KLR team headed to Jacksonville Speedway on Sunday. Macedo qualified sixth in Flight A of time trials, gained a spot in his heat race to finish second and transfer into the DIRTVision Fast Pass Dash. After finishing second in the dash, the remainder of the night was postponed as a result of rain. The World of Outlaws are looking for a makeup date and will announce that at a later time.

“I thought overall it was a pretty solid weekend,” said Macedo. “Friday night started out a little slow, but we were able to work together and find some speed for the feature. Joe, Tim, Trey and Jeremy did an awesome job to make me comfortable. As for Sunday, I think we definitely had a car to beat, I was really looking forward to trying to get a win in the feature but unfortunately Mother Nature beat us all.”

The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action next week at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. For more information on these events, please visit www.woosprints.com.
