TWO-TIMING IN TEXAS: The Kyle Larson Racing team and Carson Macedo are set to get the 2020 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season back underway this weekend in the Lone Star State. The doubleheader will kick off Friday night at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, followed up with LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas for the East Texas Lone Star Shootout.
LONESTAR STATE STATS: Although both tracks are new to the Lemoore, Calif., native, the Kyle Larson Racing team has some history at each circuit with a trio of sixth-place finishes. In 2016 and 2018, KLR visited Cotton Bowl Speedway finishing sixth both times from the ninth and eighth starting positions, respectively. The team also has one visit to LoneStar Speedway that came in 2017 where they were able to advance from 14th to finish sixth.
READY TO ROLL: “I am really excited to get the season back rolling,” said Macedo. “Luckily I have been able to stay busy since racing in Volusia [Speedway Park]. I was able to win the Australian Speedcar Championship with Dyson Motorsports and competed in two ASCS [American Sprint Car Series] National Tour races in my home state of California, but there is nothing like racing with the World of Outlaws. I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the KLR No. 2 at two new race tracks.”
