BROWNELLS BIG GUNS BASH: The Kyle Larson Racing team is set to compete at the famed Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway this Friday and Saturday with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for the annual Brownells Big Guns Bash. This weekend’s doubleheader will be Carson Macedo’s first time at the Sprint Car Capital of the World with the Outlaws outside of the Knoxville Nationals.

2017 NATIONALS: The Lemoore, Calif., native made his first trip to the famed half-mile in 2017 for the 410 Knoxville Nationals. He finished 15th in the main event on his preliminary night and fourth in the first B-Main on Friday, missing the transfer spot to the main event by one position. Macedo finished 14th in the C-Main during Saturday’s finale.

2018 AT KNOXVILLE: Macedo competed in six events at Knoxville Raceway last year. He was running seventh with the All Star Circuit of Champions before cutting a tire with four laps remaining, resulting in a 16th place finish. Macedo piloted the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 for the first time at the 360 Nationals and won his preliminary night before finishing in the runner-up spot in Saturday’s finale. Sunday at the Capitani Classic, Macedo then earned another runner-up finish. In Thursday’s Knoxville 410 Nationals preliminary action, Macedo was the quickest qualifier of the night and finished sixth in his heat race. He went on to win the B-Main and finished ninth from 21st in the feature event, locking him into Saturday’s big show. In the Knoxville 410 Nationals finale, Macedo raced as high as fourth before ultimately finishing in sixth-place.

MACEDO ON KNOXVILLE: “I’m very excited to get back to Knoxville Raceway this weekend,” said Macedo. “Knoxville is just a great race track and it always puts on some of the best racing. The weather forecast has been up and down all week so I’m hoping that Mother Nature plays nice and we get to have some fun. It’s a great opportunity to get our cars tuned in for the Knoxville Nationals in August, so I’m really hoping we can get the show in.”
