MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 14, 2018) – Kyle Larson Racing wrapped up a three-race weekend Sunday night. The World of Outlaws competed at the historic Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio Friday and Saturday for #LetsRaceTwo, followed up by the rain-postponed event at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind.

Friday night at Eldora Speedway, Stewart was the second to last qualifier to make a lap in time trials and ended up 30th. He was able to gain two positions in his heat race to finish sixth, coming up one spot shy of the final transfer spot to the main event. In the Last Chance Showdown, Stewart started 10th and gained five positions, narrowly missing the final transfer again, but the team used a provisional and started 25th in the 30-lap #LetsRaceTwo feature event. They went on to finish 22nd.

The following night the Bixby, Okla., native qualified 11th and finished fifth in his heat race. He started the main event from the inside of row 10. Stewart survived two cautions in the 30-lap finale and gained four positions to finish in 15th-place.

Sunday night at Tri-State Speedway, Stewart was the first car out in Flight 2 of qualifying and ended up with the 12th fastest lap. He started sixth in the fourth and final heat race and gained a spot to earn the final transfer into the 40-lap main event. Stewart started the feature from the outside of row 10 and the race went caution free until just after the halfway point. Stewart restarted in 20th and survived a multi-car accident off turn 2 late in the race to finish 16th.

Fresh off of his top-five finish at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., Saturday night, team owner, Kyle Larson, also competed at Tri-State Speedway on Sunday in the Silva Motorsports Brandt No. 57. He was the fastest qualifier in Flight 2 and the fastest overall, being the only driver to dip down into the 11 second bracket. He won his heat race and finished fifth in the Sears Craftsman Club Dash. The Elk Grove, Calif., native raced within the top five the entire main event and survived the multi-car accident on lap 30 to finish in third-place.

“It’s definitely not the weekend we were hoping for,” said Stewart. “I have been fighting a really bad vibration and lack of grip all weekend. My guys busted their butts at Eldora Friday night to change pretty much everything on our ENEOS No. 2 to fix it and hopefully when they get back to the shop this week, we can get it figured out. It’s a bummer for everyone involved, but I know we will get it turned around soon.”

The Kyle Larson Racing team will be back in action on Wednesday, May 16 at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Penn., for the Gettysburg Clash. Purchase tickets for Wednesday night’s race here.
